Buick’s New Flagship: The Avenir

If you have been living under a rock for the last week, or really aren’t that much of an auto enthusiast, The North American International Auto Show is going on right now.  At this particular auto show in Detroit, all the world’s automobile manufacturers come together to show off their latest models and new concept vehicles. Well this year, Buick has announced a new flagship sedan for their lineup to replace the aging Lacrosse. This new concept making its debut, is the Avenir, meaning “future” in French. The whole car looks and feels like luxury with attitude. It has sleek, space ship-like designs and a futuristic-looking interior.

Luxury Reimagined

It is a sophisticated, beautiful machine that is designed with not only the driver, but the passengers in mind. The Avenir is able to predict exactly what you need with its proactive technology. It is not just at your fingertips like most other vehicles, but integrated with how you live. The Avenir features a next generation, direct-injection, V6 engine with active fuel management and stop/start technology. Next generation Buick IntelliLink infotainment with large, 12-inch diagonal color touch screen and driver-recognition features will automatically sync infotainment preferences. As with almost all of GM’s new vehicles, the Buick Avenir comes standard with OnStar’s 4G LTE Wi-Fi hotspot.

Intense Interior

The passion of the Buick design team is perfectly translated into reality by expert use of sculpting glass, steel, and leather. The Avenir introduces itself by simply arriving and makes a lasting first impression once you exit the vehicle. This sedan is the pinnacle of luxury. The layout of the cabin is a personal 2+2 layout with a front and rear center console. The Avenir has ionic cabin air filtration, and wireless mobile device charging.

Exacting Exterior

The exterior of the Buick Avenir has been artistically sculpted with purposeful lines that exude a calm, confident stance. The front grill has been designed based on the landmark ’54 Wildcat Concept II. Full LED exterior lighting gives this luxury sedan a commanding presence on the road at night. When you roll up to dinner with your clients, friends, or family, you won’t just show up as much as you will arrive. The 21-inch wheels give this vehicle a heavyweight stance while its 204.5 in. x 76 in. dimensions and fluid lines give this vehicle an attitude reminiscent of the old school fastback-style muscle cars. Lateral lines portray an almost Chevrolet Camaro or Corvette-esque styling, hinting at a possibility of more than enough power under the hood. The whole frame shows off a tightly put together, agile, yet powerful dancer for the road.

While there is no word on a release date yet, fear not our Buick faithful: this vehicle will be the next in line for the Flagship title.
